Day 1
We arrived late afternoon ( we had previously spent a week at the north port of the island at East Winds, highly recommend) We were greeted by Janus and he showed us around the villa + made us feel right at home. We hanged around the villa then walked to Ruby’s for dinner which was very good. I strongly recommend wearing sneakers on the walk, the walk up the villa is very steep! After dinner we walked around a little bit, but found there wasn’t many people out, so we decided to return to the villa and rest. Day 2 Walked to the Botanical Gardens, Diamond Falls. Easy walk + well worth the $7 ticket price. We then walked to the waterfront and got a mango smoothie at Zaka (delicious). We got lunch at Fedos. They were out of the Roti which we were told by several locals that they are the best around here so we goy chicken instead. Food was good, not out of this world good but decent. We went to dinner at Mango Tree which was amazing, great view! Food is a little pricy but to be expected at a resort Day 3 Rain! We went to hotel Chocolat to do the tour which was fun for a rainy day and views were lovely. The food was very good. We went to Jade mountain for dinner, AMAZING VIEWS EVER! Food was very good. Expensive but I am glad we went. It was a very cool experience. Heading home today so we just relaxed at the villa. We love St. Lucia and will definitely come back. Some things we recommend doing: Visit the Sulphur springs- very unique experience Take a boat tour to see the island- it was very fun Thank you, Janus, for the hospitality! Carly + Josh, North Carolina We’ve had the best time here at Seranna Villa, it was the perfect way to kick off our honeymoon!7/23/2018
We arrived late Thursday afternoon + got picked up by Fabian. Made a quick stop at a grocery store which was perfect. I was so delighted to see that they were giving free pasta, which is one of my favorites. Chilled at the villa that night and soaked in the beautiful views. The next day we walked into the town. Highly recommend the walk. It’s about 20 minutes to get to the waterfront. If you need to take out cash, go to the CIBC First Caribbean Bank. They take international cards. We enjoyed wondering throughout the town, got a beer at a local bar (don’t know the name) and hang out by the Bay. By the time we made the walk back we couldn’t have been happier to have a pool to hang out in. That night we had a dinner reservation at Jade Mountain! If you want to Catch the sunset be there by 5:30/6:00. The sun was already set by the time we got there. The drive up to Jade Mountain is crazy! Worst road ever but so worth it. The grounds are absolutely stunning + the service was incredible, from start to finish. Regarding the food, I need to say this, we are both foodies + have had some amazing dinner experiences over the years. The presentation of each dish was fantastic and really enjoyed our meal, but we weren’t blown away. But the scenery was amazing. The next morning, we made a nice breakfast and used the Mangoes Janus provided to make a delicious mango chutney. We then walked to the Diamond Botanical Gardens. Once again, a very nice walk. The entry is $7 USD or $17.50 EC per person. Loved the garden + loved the Diamond Waterfalls! We then headed to the waterfront + made our way to Hummingbird Restaurant and Resort for lunch. Once again beautiful views + we had a lovely lunch while tiring it all in. Janus picked up + on the way back he showed us his other properties as well as the site of his newest development which is sure to be epic! That evening we went to Dasheene at Ladera Resort and our minds were blown! This place has the absolute best views of the pitons + the food was incredible, still high end but more authentic + each and every dish was oh so favorable. If you can only do one I’d pick Dasheene over Jade Mountain although you can’t go wrong with either. We’ve had the best time here at Seranna Villa, it was the perfect way to kick off our honeymoon! ELLEN + PAUL TORONTO CANADA Oh, and if you’re taking break from the stunning views go to YouTube and search # Orossi Wedding2018, to check out the flashmob dance, I surprised my hubby with. It’s a good laugh! CHEERS!! SEE ALSO
Day 1:
We arrived mid-afternoon from the north side of the island- what a drive! Janus was here to meet us and show us around the villa. We had a few pitons here then headed to Anse Chastanet for a couple drinks and the sunset ($25 USD- 1 piton+ Pina colada) Beautiful black sand + breathtaking spot for sunset. The drive to the beach is intense, but we were glad we rented a car through island cars 😊. Headed back to the villa for dinner then rest. Day 2: Breakfast + Coffee at the villa to start our day and take in the view. Headed straight to the Tet Paul Nature Trail for our 1st stop ( $10 USD pp) This is a must with stunning views! Next stop was Piton Falls ($3 USD PP) and then to the Sulphur Springs mud baths ($55UDD PP). Both equally fun but they don’t take very long, we made it back to the villa before noon for lunch + pitons. Tanned and drank by the pool for quite a while then Janus picked us up for a tour of Sargas Villa. Beautiful view and Janus’s story is so inspiring!! Dinner at Boucan with an amazing view of Petit Piton + the sunset. I enjoyed the food but my husband did not. If we were to go back we’d skip straight to the lava cake! ($175 USD- 5 drinks, 1 app, 2 entres + dessert) Day 3: We started at Sugar Beach for a beautiful day in the sun. Parked at the top, walked down ($10 to park) Laid our towels in front of a big sandy tree and enjoyed the amazing view. This is a must-see beach in our eyes. Blaze helped us out with snorkel gear ($10 USD pp) plus the fishes were incredible here! Bring a little bread in your pockets to feed the fishes, they will go nuts! We also had two Pina Coladas from Blaze ($15 for 2) they were delish but weak! We went to the bar to get a receipt and a ride back up the hill and we had an amazing day. Back to the Villa for showers + dinner. Then to Dasheene for drinks + dessert. If you like pistachio ice cream then you will love theirs! The people were extremely kind here! Day 4: Headed to Anse Mamin to hit the beach bright and early! Since we were there all day we bought the beach chairs ($16/pp) + it was totally worth it! We were bummed to find out you cannot rent snorkeling gear but we made the best of the crystal-clear water and black sand. Split the buffer + everyone raves about it… So worth it!! Extremely sun burnt we decided to stay at the villa + the views of the pitons on our last day. Special thank you to Janus+ wonderful team! The fresh fruit and bread were added bonuses to this amazing villa + for the day the stores were closed early due to carnival we could not find rum. Janus sent his team to find rum and Pina Colada ingredients + bring them to our door! Just wow! Your hospitality + customer service is amazing + your happy smile is contagious! Keep being awesome 😊 Chris + Alex Beeken St. Louis, MO July 1- July 6, 2018
Day 1: Arrived 5 pm at the airport. Car rental company waited for us even though our flight was delayed. We got lost coming into town (took a left at church instead of left) Called Janus and he met us at a Gas Station. Finally arrived! Stores were closed so we went to Ruby’s for dinner. Day 2: We woke up early. Went into town, Bank + Grocery store. Visited Diamond Falls, Volcano, Plantation. Went to Martha’s Tables for lunch. Came back to the villa, pool time was a must. Went to Petit for dinner, massage at Sugar Beach. Day 3: Zaka’s for smoothies. Then drove to Castries! Drive was an adventure! Once we got to Castries, we went shopping and walked around. We had dinner at Orlando’s. Day 4: Full day… Smoothies at Zaka’s, shopped in town. Lunch at pier 28. Purchased very nice Slurp from Ray (seamstress in town). Recommend- - Martha’s Table - Zaka’s - Rainforest Missouri People are very friendly and helpful. Thank you, Janus, for being a great host! Arrived at Serrana Villa! We got to the villa around 1 o’clock, and were greeted by Janus with open arms… Literally, we were given big hugs! After being shown around, we realized that we needed groceries…. NO PROBLEM! Janus called us a car, which showed up within the hour. Our driver brought us into town to the supermarket… Really friendly people, they take cards as well. Stores are also walking distance from the villa. Immediately my husband and I realized that it would be no problem for a 10- 20-minute walk to the town ourselves. Night consisted of a lovely happy hour on the deck and some homemade pasta. Great to have such a big kitchen to work with! We caught up on the bachelor while eating dinner, which we wouldn’t normally do, but it started raining. It did not take away the view though. Small perks: The adorable pool to dip our feet into and a feeling of seclusion! Day 2: Had coffee on the back deck and enjoyed the view. Later walked into town for some beers… It’s about 20 mins walk into town to the grocery store, but so easy! Just follow the road all the way into town. The people are so nice and we loved being able to stretch our legs, chat with locals and enjoy Soufriere. At night we headed to Ruby’s Pizzeria- thought we might grab some apps and then take a pizza to go. We got there at 4:30 and it seems they were just opening (it officially opens at 3:00) We were the only ones there so if you’re looking to go no need to make a reservation! We were told that Ruby’s doesn’t actually sell pizza all the time…. Weird, so don’t plan on getting pizza at Ruby’s However, we ordered a Ruby’s Burger to split, the catch of the day and rum punch. Definitely get the burger! SO YUMMY! Fries are also delightful also great punch. Be prepared to eat a lot, tough, or you might find yourself leaving pretty tipsy! After Ruby’s we stopped at the little bar at the bottom of the hill. So cute, kind of hidden. Coolest bartender, she gave us honey moon shots of rum and even took one with us. The walk back up the hill was rough. Day 3: Janus brought us fresh bread. Yum! Coffee on the porch, then lunch at Fedo’s before doing the Tet Paul Nature Trail. Although the drivers claim Fedo’s as some sort of local classic, my husband and I weren’t into it. The wait was around an hour and neither of us liked the food very much. The people were not super friendly either, just be warned! Also, if you’re getting a roti from Fedo’s, be prepared that the meat is “bone- in”. My husband nearly broke a tooth. Tet Paul Nature Trail: If you don’t feel like climbing a dangerous mountain which is Gros Piton do this hike instead! 10 mins drive from Serrana Villa, short hike/ walk (15- 20 mins) multiple stops along the way and so freaking beautiful. We actually had a close up view of the pitons, something we wouldn’t of had if we climbed the pitons. • $10 US, each person • $10 US can choose to have a guide or not (we didn’t, we liked that personally) Day 4: Our last full day in St. Lucia. We enjoyed our morning thoroughly… slept in late and had a late breakfast. The porch is just lovely in the morning. Later we went to the supermarket for lunch supplies and Janus drove us himself. Really nice. The supermarket is kind of crazy, but at this point we knew our way around the isles. Dinner at Ruby’s again. We loved being able to walk down the road for a meal. We got a burger to share and lots of fries. We also had rum and some Pina coladas. Just really good people. The waitress is so sweet and the owner always comes over to talk with us. No pizza again, but hey, if you’re an unknown person, get a pizza at Ruby’s, I hope it is the best god darn pizza in the whole world. Overall great stay at Serrana Villa. St. Lucia is beautiful and the people are so friendly. We loved our first 4 days at Caille Blanc and we also loved Serrana Villa. Just a few tips…… - Walk into town instead of getting a driver. You won’t regret it, just really pretty and friendly people. - DO NOT LEAVE FOOD OUT ANYWHERE!! The villa has ants and they are everywhere there’s food. Just try to stay neat. Apparently, all fruit you see in the trees or bushes around the villa are fair game. So that ripe papaya next to the back deck, or that big pineapple out front or that ripe papaya, eat them. I mean that’s awesome. Enjoy your stay! We sure did 😊 Adam + Sarah Minnesota, Married—6.23.18 Honeymooners |
