Cincinnati Ohi Thank you Janus for a wonderful stay. This has been one of our best vacations we have ever had, even amidst the Covid restrictions in the city. Highlights & knowledge bits from our trips: 1. Enjoy some days at the beautiful villa, the sun rises on the Mountains are truly amazing each day. 2. Don’t hesitate to go into town! The People are so nice and welcoming! Be prepared to receive gifts from people in the town for money ie. Small carving out of coconut husk 😊 3. Eat at Fedos, get a drink with the locals at Whispers, walk over to Hummingbird beach (very small but beautiful views!) 4. Do the tours, ours were worth it! We partook in Hotel Chocolate tour (my favorite) Hike the Pitons ( views are worth it but warning- it is intense) , go to Malgretoute beach (we did this after hotel chocolat Tour) this is a gorgeous beach, very small with a restaurant and bar. 5. Driver required to eat at these places but totally worth it- Ladera, Mango tree and Tree House, all three of these were absolutely breathtaking! 6. Last but not least, our driver for the week was Jermal, super sweet, a bit quiet but very nice. He helped to make our last day one of our best. Take the Soufriere tour that they suggested. It’s a bit of everything. All of the best attractions wrapped up into 5 hours! Jermal was amazing. Note: Cards are only accepted at few places, cash is King here, do make sure to always carry it with you. We had to go to the ATM three times while here. “We came feeling like strangers, we left feeling like Family” Thank you Stacy & Mark 1st anniversary- Texas
Heather Marshall Our wedding was a covid wedding in Texas May 16th but our honeymoon here to St. lucia was cancelled due to covid restrictions so we decided to make it our 1st anniversary honeymoon! Day 1: Arrival to St. Lucia from Texas. Shane picked us up from the airport and gave us a ton of history and culture of St. Lucia on the way to the villa. He welcomed us with opened arms and big smiles. Shane has been the best driver! Upon getting to the villa Janus met us there and gave us a tour of Serrana. So welcoming and really wanting us to have a good stay. We hit the bed early after a long day of travel. Day 2: woke up and made some pancakes for breakfast and then relaxed in the pool and snapped some pictures of the place and view. In the afternoon Shane picked us up and we went on an atv tour through jungle and saw 2 secluded beaches and the Devil’s bridge. Upon getting back from ATV tour Janus saw us and took us on a tour of his 4 other villas. Gorgeous! Beautiful views of the town, Pitons and beach all around. Ending the night with Netflix and some drinks. Day 3: Today Shane was our own private tour guide and took us to the Tet Paul Nature Trail. This was incredible views, moderate hiking, but the view is insane. Then we went to the drive-in Volcano and Sulphur Springs bath with mud. Very cool to think we were standing in a real volcano. The mud baths were hot a relaxing. Then we were taken to the local waterfall and had a high intensity shower there! Ha. Finall, we ended our day with eating at a buffet called the Beacon. Outstanding views, food and service. We really enjoyed this! Day 4: we opted for a beach day today and it did not disappoint. One of our favorite days so far. We were disappointed to hear Sugar Beach was shut down to only resort residents but this other beach DID not disappoint. Name starts with an “M” (MALGRETOUTE) cant remember exactly. It was pretty private, only us and 8 other people through the whole day. $15 per person get you a beach chair and an umbrella and butler service. We chose to do snorkeling $10 per person and this was the best decision of the day. The reef there is amazing, so many different colors of fish. We also saw an eel and another guest saw a squid. Awesome! Awesome snorkeling, excursion tomorrow but cancelled because we were so impressed today $20 was a much better price than the $200 excursion was going to cost us. The beach was wo quaint, right under the Piton Mountain and practically around the corner from Sugar beach. A local name blaze came right up to shore on a small boat with fresh fruit he had just picked. And best thing he makes fresh drinks with it right there out of the boat. We had a pina colada and a fruit box. This was the best tasting stuff! We enjoyed the best beach day and relaxed, the rest of the evening at the villa. Day 5: Note to self, if you go to the beach, wear a large amount of sunscreen. Thought I had enough on but I was wrong so today woke up to extremely painful sunburns. Today was our 1 year anniversary so we decided to hang out at the villa and enjoy it and each other’s company. We played games, read books, got in the pool, watched Netflix and enjoyed lounging thinking back on this crazy year of marriage that we have had. We decide to hire Che Ramsey tonight for a special dinner. Great Choice! We stood around and talked while he cooked and asked questions. He was so polite and answered all questions. We had the grilled seafood in garlic lime butter sauce and it did not disappoint. Delicious! Highly recommend booking him during your stay. We ended the night taking a dip in the pool beneath the stars. Great 1st anniversary! Day 6: Today we decided to go back to the beach. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. We went snorkeling again and saw the squid for ourselves and another eel! So crazy and right there at your finger tips. We ordered the burger at the beach and the Bob Marley and Pina Colada and it was all really good. Wore a lot of sun screen this time round so no more burns for us. Ending the day cooking in the villa and getting our Covid Test to go back to Texas on Wednesday. Day 7: today we enjoyed another day in relaxing at the villa. We made breakfast and played some board games and cards. We got in and relaxed by the pool. For lunch we decided to go for a walk to Fedos. Food was delicious. Highly recommend. We ate the grilled fish in garlic butter sauce and ordered the roto to go for another time. A fresh fruit truck was even outside and we were able to pick up some Mangoes and plums. Ended the day with a movie on Netflix. Day 8: Back to Texas Day ☹ Shane will be picking us up to go back to the airport at 11. We have enjoyed our 1st anniversary trip to St. Lucia SO MUCH. This is a beautiful island with beautiful people. Thank you Janus and your team for a wonderful stay, you will always have a place to stay in Texas if you decide to come😊 Good Vibes and Island time With love Heather and Marshall Billy & Heather
April 23- 30th 2021 10 year anniversary Texas My husband and I had this trip planned for 1.5 years. Although covid certainly changed a lot of things (masks, no entry to some beaches) we have still had the most wonderful experience! On the way in the driver was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took us by the grocery store and pointed out things to do and see on the way to the villa. The first few days we spent relaxing and enjoying the pool. The real reason we chose St. Lucia was the villa! We fell in love with the pics online and it does not disappoint in person. The bed is comfy, porch and pool relaxing and the VIEW is truly spectacular. We had Chef Ramsey come twice. Once is simply not enough. We had grilled fish Banana BBQ Sauce/trio seafood creamy mushroom sauce. Both were absolutely delish! We sat at the bar and watched him cook while asking which he was happy to answer while also telling us funny stories of Janus’ childhood. Soufriere Orientation tour Shane was our driver/guide for this and was excellent, very personable and a great photographer. This tour was great, hits many of the touristy things we wanted to see. Ended the tour with lunch at the Beacon. What a view!! We also spent some time walking around town. We went to Hummingbird Beach, crowded on Sundays but absolutely beautiful. You Need to try a hot dog at Maddog Hotedogs. Great people and food. We also had Lunch at Fedos. The chicken Roti was great but watch out for bones. Lunch at The Dream was also very good. Lady Behind the bar was very friendly. We had donner at Ladera and it did not disappoint. Get their early for a pre- dinner cocktail and check out the view. Food and service is very good as well. We hit up Malgretoute beach for a few hours. While its small it did not feel crowded. Beautiful full service beach to relax and catch some rays, They also offer a variety of water sports. Towards the end of our stay, we hiked Gros Piton. We are experiences Hikers but in pretty good shape. Go early! 7am. We opted out of the hiking poles and did not have any regrets. The hike itself id very strenuous but doable. The view is great and you get to tell everyone you climbed a freaking mountain. Our guide’s name was virginia and shes a beast! The hubs felt great and downed the ice cold Piton Beers Jamal brought us. I, on the other hand got a bit of heat exhaustion and rendered useless for the rest of the day. Jamal did a bit of shopping for us. Brought me one of the best Pizzas that ive every eaten. Pineapple and ham, no idea where its from. He also messaged to find out how I was feeling later that day. Jamal if you read this you are a Rockstar! Hotel Chocolat Bean to Bar tour Such a very cool tour and very much recommend. Our tour guides were Monique & Marina (my new BFF’s) The tour was educational, fun and delish! We grafted our own cocoa tree, walked around the estate and made our own chocolate Bars. Tough job but very fun. We also had lunch here, very tasty! We are sad to leave this beautiful place and villa; we’ve thoroughly enjoyed our stay but must get home to our 3 kids. Janus really has something special going on here and we hope to return in the future! Thank you Janus & the dream team for a wonderful stay! Heather & Billy |
WEATHER IN SAINT LUCIA
While most places in the world have four well-defined seasons, its proximity to the equator means that this is not really the case for the island of St. Lucia. Archives
