Villa Serrana - So Beautiful! St. Lucia is a piece of paradise!
These books are so helpful and with great advice. Here’s what we did: Activities: Diving – Went to hummingbird Resort + booked with action adventure divers. Snorkelers could also go on the trip. Chester was the lead diver and he was great! There are 4 of us (2 divers, 2 snorkelers) snorkeling was ok but not terrific – (not that many fish) Snorkeling: went to sugar beach + Anse Chastanet by water taxi. Caught the water taxi at Hummingbird resort. Spent 2 hours at sugar beach – very beautiful. Not a lot of fish, though. We wer then picked up + taken to Anse CHastanet. Again not a lot of fish but ok. Beautiful beach + the beach bar was great! Our water taxi drivers, Darvin + Shane, were awesome. Very punctual + knowledgeable about the area. We paid $240.00 EC for the all day trip. Friday Fish Fry in Anse La raye: such a quaint, beautiful little village. Had a great time eating fish at several different stalls, but not that many stalls were open – but still a great experience. Friendly locals. Also the fish fry seems to start a lot later than we expected – food wasn’t out till 7:30. Rainforest – Enbas Saut Trail. A beautiful hike in the rainforest. Janus set this up for us with Paul the driver + Douglas the guide. We didn’t feel we could handle the 2,200 steps down to the water all + back up (old, achy knees) but we took the trail into the forest + learned about the flora + fauna. Douglas was a great guide ( Don’t do this without a guide). Boucan - a stunning restaurant at the hotel chocolat. An excellent dinner! The view is gorgeous in daylight – (it was dark by the time we got there). Highly recommend! Off to Barbados tomorrow – Thank you Janus! We had an absolutely fabulous time. we’ll be back to stay in one of your other amazing villas! Your hospitality was over the top! Steve + Lynn Jack + Cindy Seattle, Washington We booked this place almost a year ago! We could not believe it when we actually arrived. It was more beautiful than we could have pictured and was the perfect setting for our honeymoon! Janus was an incredible host.
Day 1 – We arrived later afternoon and had arranged for one of Janus’ drivers to pick us up a the airport. It was easy to follow Janus’ directions for how to meet our driver. He was very kind and knowledgeable about the island. It took us about 45 mins- 1 hour to arrive at the villa from the airport, and Janus greeted us on arrival! Because it was a holiday, the grocery stores weren’t open, but they had a few items ready for us (orange juice, milk, eggs, crackers). We went to Ruby’s for dinner. We thought the food was decent and pretty fairly priced. (about $35USD for 2 meals, 2 drinks). Day 2 – Janus’ driver Jamal picked us up at 8:45pm to take us on our tour of Soufriere. We first stopped at the Tet Paul Nature Trail and loved it! Views were incredible and our guide liven on property which was special. We did the Volcano next. It was pretty cool – definitely more crowded and it smelled bad, but it was a good experience. Next, we did the waterfall which was very cold but beautiful! Jamal took lots of pictures for us. He then took us to Petit Peak for lunch. Incredible views, decently prices also. Then he was super kind to wait for us as we took a quick trip into Eroline’s Grocery. They converted prices into USD for us. That night we had Chef Ramsey make us the Stir Fry Chicken Pasta for dinner at the villa. He first made us mango Daiquiris which were incredible and the pasta was soo delicious! We loved the peppers from his garden we even had leftovers! Day 3 – we at breakfast at the villa and had one of Janus’ drivers take us to the beach to spend the day. We went to Anse Chastanet and were very thankful we were not driving ourselves, as the road is very narrow, windy and bumpy! Once we arrived at the beach, we walked all the way to the right, up a few stairs, and walked about 10 min to Anse Mamin. We found this beach much more isolated and less touristy. The beach is public but one side has chairs for resort guests and one for visitors. We rented 2 chairs for $22 USD total. We each had a drink for about $14 USD each? We had the driver pick us up and came home. That night we decide to walk into town for dinner. Janus was walking out at the same time and offered to drive us on his way! We debated eating at Pier 28, but liked the view at Petit Peak better, so ended up eating there again. Most of their menu was unavailable, so we ended up getting shrimp appetizer to split (About 15 USD) and went home to eat leftovers. We walked about 20 minutes back to the villa and felt very safe the whole time! Day 4 – We debated going to sugar beach, but we loved Anse Mamin so much that we went back. We ended up eating lunch at the beach and ordered the crispy chicken sandwich; very very good but also pretty pricey for what it was. (about $20 USD) per sandwich – for dinner, we went to Mango Tree. The views were incredible! Definitely get there before; for a drink around the pool. Food was incredible and so was the environment. Service was definitely on island time. Day 5 – We spent our day at the villa around the pool before our dinner reservations. Our dinner reservations were at Dasheen. We arrived about 30 mins before to catch the sunset and grab a drink at the bar. We told them it was our honeymoon on the reservation and they gave us a front row table. absolutely breathtaking views ! the service were incredibly kind. For two drinks, our meal, and a dessert it was a little over $100 USD. SOOO worth it! Day 6 – Time to go home ☹ Thank you Janus for having an amazing villa and for thinking of everything! You made our honeymoon so easy and so enjoyable. Also loved our driver Jamal and how accessible he was. This was the trip of our dreams and we can’t wait to come back and stay at one of your newest projects. Hallie & Matthew Nashville, TN |
