"Overall best trip of our lives. I wish I could start over and relive it again and again"12/29/2017
Day 1 Fly in at 4:00, one of Janus’ driver’s picks us up @ the airport in a very pimp ride. Said driver is also a tour guide of sorts stopping to show us random and beautiful parts of the island on our way in to the city. Petit Peak for Dinner, best pasta I’ve tasted to date. "Feeling over the moon, climbing Gros Piton Tomorrow." Day 2 Gros Piton - Beautiful views but it kicked my ass quite literally. Worth it? Yes, but I just did it and I am a bit delirious because we ran out of water. DON’T DO THAT. Anyways, feeling much better (rum helps). Another guide/driver of Janus took us by a BBQ join in the city. Blue walls about a clock or two away. THIS BBQ CHANGED MY LIFE, can’t remember the name……Chilling by our pool all day tomorrow with desperado’s and Ladera for dinner at sunset. Day 3 Lazy and sunburnt by the pool till 5:30, booz run at the local market then dinner at Ladera. MG - best views and food. Get ready to drop some $Tho. - Kyle says it was worth the $ since we conquered the piton yesterday (Still hurts). Trek through town to the beach and a few errands tomorrow #vacationallieverwanted. Day 4 Up and at it around 10am just in time to hit Fedo’s for some delicious food and walk to the pharmacy for sunscreen then went to the bay/hummingbird beach. Rented chairs and put them in a shade by the loading dock. VERY NICE, ate again and had cocktails at Hummingbird’s Restaurant which was delicious. The chef came out and let us try some raw cut sugar cane. We went back to our chairs but they were being used so we just laid somewhere else for a bit then got a ride home after stopping at Big yard for some BBQ (we like to eat if you can’t tell) Day 5 Up early pack everything and get a ride to Anse Chastanet Beach! We walked to Anse Mamin where it was $11.00 per chair USD and the bar opened at 9am food at 12, very good burgers but I recommend BYOB to save $ No snorkeling today, red flag waves were crazy big but it was still relaxing and fun to watch. We walked back to Anse Chastanet as the sun was setting and enjoyed their bar and restaurant very much. May sleep in a bit tomorrow, sunset cruise at 4pm Day 6 Friday TGIF walked down to Fedos for lunch then through the town for some Souvenirs and Boarded a sunset cruise with Mystic Man around 4pm. It was so beautiful. Double rainbows, great people. They had rum punch. We got beer and sweet potatoes fries at Pier 28 right after. AMAZING NIGHT ready for all day at sugar beach tomorrow. DAY 7 (OUR LAST DAY) :( Sugar Beach by 10am got front row in the shade on the public/free side. Beautiful Day! Great snorkeling, pricey drinks and food. I recommend bringing snacks and beer/rum instead. We got picked up just before sunset went to Petit Peak again for dinner which was great. Overall best trip of our lives. I wish I could start over and relive it again and again. We’re going to start saving and come back asap.
We love you, Janus! We love you, St. Lucia Kyle & Leslie We chose Serrana Villa for our birthday celebration and couldn’t be happier! The place is a dream and has everything we could have imagined. We think the pool really, makes the villa spectacular and enjoyed swimming with a cold drink while watching the sun go down (and the bats J). We are very adventurous and appreciate the fact that there was always something fun to so and something beautiful to see! Take it all in and ENJOY!!!
Thank you for a WONDERFUL vacation. I couldn’t imagine it to be any better. We take a trip every year during this time and St. Lucia is by far my favorite place to date! Serrana Villa was our home away from home and Janus was a spectacular Host. He made sure we had everything we needed and even brought us some local homemade bread one night! I will forever cherish the memories my husband and I made here! THANK YOU!!! The Abrahams Pittsburgh, PA. USA Go Steelers!! Stanley (Up Champs Penguins) We came here seeking adventure and beauty for our family of four, Leaving with our hearts full from the places we’ve seen and people we’ve met! Most people have highlighted top things to do so we will just write our favs.
Places to eat Boucan - For lunch is a must! One of the most amazing meals we’ve ever had and lunch prices so reasonable (try 3 skewers, lava cake, antilla chocolate stout beer😊 it was my birthday (Lisa”43”) so they even danced and sang for me. Mango Tree – ate here twice. Sunday night is an inexpensive tepas menu – delicious. Regular weekday there nights don’t start until 6:50 so call ahead. They went out of their way to feed us early for my son’s birthday. Celebrated with song & cake (shane “14”) sunset views and added bonus - bring camera! Ruby’s - Ate here twice for convenience. Loved our second non-pizza night (pizza just ok). Wings – some of the best ever tasted. Really enjoyed Shrimp Stir-fry. Places to go Get a car! It’s a little scary to do at first but must for the adventure seeker. Road Trip to the east side of the island – included accidental drive to light house - wow most spectacular view of island (better than vie on pitons). Tree top adventure zipline – some more gorgeous view of jungle mixed with thrill seeking times, shout out to our guides popcorn and Nelson. Dennery Falls – Hidden gem. This is a must if you are out here. By far the most beautiful spot! Down the road from zipline. Feel Good Taxi Tours – arranged this from states. Daniel picked us up in town and took us to about 5 incredible snorkeling spots on the west coast followed by lunch prepared by his wife on the beach. Gros Piton Hike – Be wared this is a climb, not a hike! Toughest thing we’ve all done and we are a pretty fit family. Rocks are steep & slippery which makes both ways hard, worth the views and bragging rights. Zion Lion Farm – another tour planned home. Paul – owner – messed up our date but we rescheduled and his nephew Vikki led the day. We spent the morning touring his town 17th heaven and seeing local crafters (pot clay maker, grass furniture and wood carver). Then Vikki showed us his farm and taught us a lot about history of his island, his local village and the desire to preserve their traditions organic farming. Lunch was traditionally made in clay pots down a long Yukana Bay. Joann made tuna and chicken with lots of local veggies and most amazing coconut veggie rice. Vikki also lead snorkeling around beach, nicest family here on St. Lucia! Best Beach, sugar Beach. Best Villa too Janus! We will miss this place of paradise. Tom, Lisa, Shane & Julia Virginia Beach USA 12/11/17 – Renting a car is definitely the way to go! We met Fabian, whom was nice enough to take us to the grocery store and pick-up some stuff. Demitri, my husband, is an amazing chef and made us Pasta and Lamb leg the first night. We relaxed by the pool on day 1, had some drinks and made some good food. Met Janus. Awesome guy! Made us feel right at home. 12/12/17- went to Anse Mamin, if you can drive up the hill to make it to the villa, you can drive anywhere on the Island. Beautiful Beach, great food and drinks. Went to Ladera for dinner, was alright (Jade Mountain is way better!!) 12/13/17 – Went to Sugar Beach. Charged $50usd per chair but was able to negotiate some drinks with that!! Went to Campari. Little local place down town for drinks, so good! Ask for Andy, she’s the chef! Absolute sweetheart. Ate, drank and danced with the locals. 12/14/17- checked out Superman falls, hidden gem! Enjoyed a nice lunch at Martha’s Tables on the way to Sugar Beach (love the floats there) and enjoyed drinks and sunset at Jade Mountain (Best Restaurant on the Island!!) Beautiful View!!! 12/15/17 – DEPARTURE ☹ Ang & Demitri Amazing stay at Serrana! Thank you to all previous guests who wrote recommendations. Our stay here was short between other locations in St. Lucia. What a great find indeed!
Walk to town and visit the botanical gardens, Fedo’s, Ruby’s. outside bar at Pier 28 is a good place to mix with locals. The market is open until 8pm, it was a nice mix to chill at home and make a few meals and drinks. Relax and enjoy! Thank you Janus for your welcome hospitality and creating Serrana.
