17 September 2017 – 1 week holiday
Arrival just as tropical storm hit the island which went into Shut down for 2 days. What a find! Beautifully located property, well equipped with views to die for. Janus the host came to my rescue with food and a local phone as all shops were in shut down. I came to get away from my busy hectic life in London to chill out, take in some fresh air and beautiful views. I certainly picked the right place. Janus is an amazing host, always there to help out at the end of the local phone he left us. 10/10 for Janus. Went all over the island in a hired 4x4, a must have as some roads to get to places have some serious pot holes although generally the roads are very good and well, lit at night. Lot to do just at your door step, botanical gardens and diamond waterfall, driver through volcano and Sulphur mud baths, a beautiful waterfall that you can bath in called torille falls. Beaches weren’t at their best after the tropical storm but still went and have a look. Sugar Beach staff at hotel resort a bit stuffy a bit off putting and wanted to charge U.S $50 per person if you wanted to use their chairs on the beach for the day. Anse Chastanet & Anse Mamin, beautiful beaches and you can walk from one to the other. Went over and fell into the tourist part of the island, took 1 ¾ hours to driver. Beaches were larger and white sand, clear water. Didn’t eat out on love coasting. We needed a bigger pot and baking Pyrex didn’t for the over and Janus was only to pleased to provide there. Good quality kitchen equipment and had lot of smoothies with fresh fruits. Thank you once again Janus, will definitely recommend to others Louise |
