Day 1- We had a great arrival into Soufriere around 3pm after stopping by a market. We had come from staying up in Marigot Bay for dome nights at a beautiful Eco Lounge. Just a few quick suggestions for people wishing to travel up north for a day or 2.
• Eat at Masala Bay! Easily our best meal yet. Mix of Indian food and Chinese – supposedly St. Lucia’s #1 restaurant at this point. We had an appetizer, 2 entrees, shared a side, 2 drinks and wonderful dessert all for a little over $100 US- Also amazing service! • • Sava W/ Shashamane experiences! He took us fishing around 3pm, snorkeling to Ti-Kaye (BEAUTIFUL) We caught 2 fishes in the heck of time and then Sava proceeded to make us a wonderful dinner, while BBQing the fish on the beach! Although fair warning he is quite the Rasta Man 😉 if you catch air drift ($450 USD for all of it) • Pigeon Island for a beautiful Hike! $10 US for 2 people to enter- great views of the northern part of the island although nothing like the view of the pitons! The rest of the evening at the villa we planned the rest of our trips in Soufriere. We decided it would be best to rent a car + travel ourselves on our own leisure time. Day 2- We couldn’t get a rental car until 4pm, so we decided to hit up all the places we could walk to. We stopped by a church to see Mass since it was Wednesday the feast of the assumption, after we headed down to Punty Bakery. We had some pudding cake and some coconut cake which was very nice, then continued walking to Hummingbird beach to cool off, it was getting hot walking. We grabbed some chairs and umbrellas for US $15 (a little pricy in my opinion but worth it) We were unimpressed with the beach however there seemed to be some construction going on for the resort. Lastly, we hit up Fedo's for some lunch on the way back, the cheeseburger and fries were great also the chicken roti. We took a break at the Villa before trekking at the botanical garden- beautiful !! we wish we had more time before heading back to the Villa. The Diamond Falls was beautiful as well although you can’t get close to it. We ended our day with a homemade meal and called it a day. Day 3- Janus and his team brought us fresh bread this morning! Very good addition to our breakfast 😊. We then headed out to the Sulphur springs first thing and arrived around 10am. Not the best decision ever. We were told later to get there at 5pm because there would be tour groups at the springs and the spring gets so hot due to the sun (I guess) iIt was still enjoyable for us but very crowded. The tour was fun and informative. $20 US for 2 people (bath + tour) Then we headed to the piton falls + 2 bath areas. These were a better temperature + easy to sit back and relax in. The afternoon was a bit rough cause it stared to rain, though that didn’t keep us from heading to Sugar Beach. We paid US $50 plus it redeemed for food and drinks not terrible. We stayed in the free chairs and enjoyed soursop smoothies. The rain caused the water to be murkier than normal. The snorkeling was good, but Ti-Kaye was better. For dinner we headed to Ruby’s- no pizza, but they promised pizza the next night, we will be heading back! We really wanted pizza however we brought home some appetizers to enjoy with some food we already had. Day 4- We headed out around 9am for Tet Paul Nature trail- beautiful short, easy hike. The views were gorgeous plus we got there before the crowds began. I believe $10 US per person? After we headed straight to Anse Chastanet for beach day. We brought our snorkel gear and our own food to save on $$. The chairs were $11 USD. Snorkeling was pretty good, but Ti-Kaye still tops! We walked to Anse Mamin + split a drink and burger it was great but nothing too special. That evening we headed t Pounty’s pizza for dinner, it was okay. We would have gone to Ruby’s, but it looked empty. 9 big rain showers came in around 6pm) Day 5- Dan left to hike Gros Piton. I would have joined but the locals discouraged me from doing so since I had done 2 hip surgeries 12 weeks ago. This just means we will have to come back to the island, so I can do it later! Dan got back way earlier than expected. He took a total of 2 hours to climb + descend Gros Piton! Definitely not the normal. For the rest of the day we hanged by the pool and enjoyed the quiet afternoon + evening. Janus brought us eggs to make cookies (it rained on and off all day, so we figured to stay in the house and enjoy some peace and quiet) Huge thank you to JANUS! You were completely hospitable and present when we needed you. Thank you for setting us up with your island car rentals, the fruits, bread and coconuts! We hope to come back to Serrana Villa soon! Or another property If its furnished. Best of luck with all your projects. Just a brief time meeting you we have no doubt for your success. Erin and Dan Kansas City We only had two nights at the Villa, but we fully enjoyed our stay. The Soufriere zone is beautiful, and we had a great time visiting the amazing beaches like Sugar Beach and Anse Chastanet, Sugar Beach in particular is stunning up there with Trunk Bay (St. John) is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean.
Janus is a great host and made us feel very welcome the moment we arrived. We spent most of our week in St. James on the Northern part of the island which was great, but if we could have spent a few more days here we would. We hope to come back some day and stay here again! Iran and Nicole (Durham, NC,USA) We arrived on Monday and have had an amazing stay at Serrana Villa. It was perfect for our little family (2 adults and 3 and 2-year-old
We enjoyed Sugar Beach 2 days, for us it was great to pay the $100 for 2 chairs and spend the day, we needed the shade to for the kid and spent 5hours, so it was worth it. The view is hard to beat. I don’t think I have seen anything prettier, its jaw dropping beautiful. We enjoyed it so much we went again. We travelled to Marigot Bay rented chairs for $5 each and spent the morning it's worth the drive if you have car, it’s an hour drive Jade mountain beach was good for the afternoon to enjoy a cocktail. Volcano + mud baths was fun with the kiddos. Diamond waterfall is pretty and the mineral baths we spent 30 mins there. We went to Ruby’s and cooked a couple of times at home. We have had an amazing family vacation and our memories will stay with us forever. Janus and his team have been fabulous making sure we are comfortable and being so welcoming. Janus was great even before we arrived, he responded to my emails in seconds. Great Guy! Pinya, Mark, Charlie + Olivia We arrived Friday afternoon from NYC for a much needed vacation. Serrana villa is so beautiful and so healing. We were stressed out New Yorkers looking to get to nature and a quiet place. We were not disappointed here.
The villa is so calming and welcoming. The lush green view, the gentle breezes, the sounds of nature, the stars at night, the peacefulness, the pool to relax in the middle of such beauty, to use day or night. What a heavenly experience. Thank you so much. Lauren |
WEATHER IN SAINT LUCIA
