Visiting from America
Emily & Kathleen & Seraphine 04.18.23 Today Shane picked us up at 9:00am for a day full of wonder. We hiked the Tet Paul Nature Trail. DO NOT MISS IT!!. Visited the Volcano and Mud Baths and went to the Botanical Gardens for an amazing tour with Alexander the Great. Everything and everyone was perfectly lovely. Tues. – we enjoyed our hike with Rufina, our guide at Tet Paul Trail…Learning about the natural flora, the life cycle of a pineapple, mango forest and the Fruit called Soursop (can be sweet, can be sour). We also found out that green papaya enzymes help to soften meat not to mention and ingestion. We enjoyed our time at the volcano with Vanessa- she shared with us the modern history of the volcano, temperatures, lava & water, the chemical compounds in the volcano, ash, rock etc. We went to the baths and floated in the black water before we painted on ourselves with black & white volcanic mud carried by men in 5 gallon buckets directly from the volcano. We went to a waterfall whos name I forgot (although it did have a sign stairway to heaven on it) the water was cool and the deluge on my upper back & neck was cleansing and purifying Shane had been our driver all day and he was thoughtful, wonderful and authentic! He started our day with An incredible tour of Soufriere. On to the Botanical Gardens to meet Alexander the Great. The most enthusiastic, informative and entertaining. Alexander the great, the best person known to hike both the Pitons (Pitit & Gros in a simple day) 😊 Our amazing guide shane took us to a local spot for drinks. The grilled fish was the best I’ve ever had. The jerk chicken was definitely the best we’ve ever had! Meanwhile Janus had brought over the extra blankets we’d asked for. All three of us like extra warmth on our bodies when we sleep! And was responsive to every inquiry. The 2 drivers/ guides we’ve had thus far. Ramiah & Shane have both been a plus adding now with Janus and I feel very safe and warm here at Serrana Villa Day 2 We had a 9am boat tour scheduled with Captain Mario. He and his mate Nemo were TOP RATE 😊. We went Snorkeling 3 different places. Saw a variety of fish and school of squid. Shane drove us to town, help us get change. We made a quick stop at the drug store and off we went on our fabulous boat tour. It feels so good knowing Janus who gets everything and always have an eye and ear out for us. He says he want you to have whatever you want and to have a really good time, and he certainly mean it! Day 3 Mama had to lay low today- watched the sun travel from east to west from Seranna Villa. Amazing! I had gotten some sun burns while at sea yesterday and my back and back of my things turn from pale white to red. Let my tale be a cautionary tale to you. If you’re “white” – of European decent, wear sunscreen to protect your yourself. The girls went to a local beach they heard about. But there were food, drinks, chairs, umbrellas etc. which I thought was great especially somethings about having to attend online classes at University. Chef Ramsey came one last night and cooked us the most delicious meal we’ve had here thus far, which says a lot because the food here has been amazing. We had the grilled seafood- frequent tuna and most tender calamary we’ve ever had and the plantain, the squash the mashed Potatoes so delicious and yummy green salad for freshness 😊 It was a per person meal than last nights- which wa sat one of the worst…yeah Dining in the open air, barely warm meals, the wait, the fact that we were there 3 hours in the most uncomfortable chairs and cost much more than Chef Ramsey. Chef Ramey is Definitely a better investment and more affordable. Jermal brought us some supplies (including 2 fresh aloe leaves for my immensely burnt back- jokes on me. I appreciate him bringing it, it was very thoughtful. Today we’re off to Rodney Bay with Jermal, I happened to wear clothes while in the ocean because my back was so sensitive, but I can’t stay out of the water another day! Day 4 We definitely celebrated 4/20 island style. The villa is an incredible place to watch the sun travel from eat to west- the sunset captivating and the star and moon gazing top notch Day 6 Whoa! So many goodness…so many things was done and experienced. Id fall short trying to name them all! I can tell you, Jermal was our driver for all of them! He’s been amazing, kind, patient, attentive, loving and informative. Hes been quick acting, responsive and thoughtful. Jermal has at different homes this week, brought me fresh coconut water out of the nut for less than an hour, he brought me two aloe leaves when I really needed them after my snorkeling sunbath and he encourages me to return to the sulphur baths to soak for healing and relief which I can say has been very beneficial to more than just my sunburns! Janus & Team are amazing. And honestly from the southeast side of Atlanta, I have not heard a single gunshot since ive been here. I feel safe and cared for. Everything we needed/asked for has been delivered well and in a timely manner. A quick recap before I go back to gazing at Gros Piton Yesterday (4/22) the girls had testing/classes online for part of the day. I went to the Sulphur Baths for the second time. This time to really enjoy/use them for healing intentions. Jermal was my driver and he was fantastic. We came back got the girls and went to the beach, the one with the Paradise Hotel, certainly very beautiful. The brought us all of our drinks (great food, I had the bbq fish); snorkel hear, glass bottomed kayak. Seen stuff and we watched a giant yacht come into port. Amazing! We went to the Mango tree for Thursday night, Caribbean bbq night. The food was great and the view from the dinner room was everything. Lounging in their lounge chairs after dinner was great for star gazing as well. Day before (4/20) we went to Rodney Bay. 1 hours drive. Fun to see a bigger town/small city. Soufriere is Definitely a gem. The beaches there is nice. Yesterday I also went back to Tet Paul to hike with Rufina one more time. It was great. Love Tet Paul Nature Trail hehe!
