1st anniversary- Texas
Heather Marshall Our wedding was a covid wedding in Texas May 16th but our honeymoon here to St. lucia was cancelled due to covid restrictions so we decided to make it our 1st anniversary honeymoon! Day 1: Arrival to St. Lucia from Texas. Shane picked us up from the airport and gave us a ton of history and culture of St. Lucia on the way to the villa. He welcomed us with opened arms and big smiles. Shane has been the best driver! Upon getting to the villa Janus met us there and gave us a tour of Serrana. So welcoming and really wanting us to have a good stay. We hit the bed early after a long day of travel. Day 2: woke up and made some pancakes for breakfast and then relaxed in the pool and snapped some pictures of the place and view. In the afternoon Shane picked us up and we went on an atv tour through jungle and saw 2 secluded beaches and the Devil’s bridge. Upon getting back from ATV tour Janus saw us and took us on a tour of his 4 other villas. Gorgeous! Beautiful views of the town, Pitons and beach all around. Ending the night with Netflix and some drinks. Day 3: Today Shane was our own private tour guide and took us to the Tet Paul Nature Trail. This was incredible views, moderate hiking, but the view is insane. Then we went to the drive-in Volcano and Sulphur Springs bath with mud. Very cool to think we were standing in a real volcano. The mud baths were hot a relaxing. Then we were taken to the local waterfall and had a high intensity shower there! Ha. Finall, we ended our day with eating at a buffet called the Beacon. Outstanding views, food and service. We really enjoyed this! Day 4: we opted for a beach day today and it did not disappoint. One of our favorite days so far. We were disappointed to hear Sugar Beach was shut down to only resort residents but this other beach DID not disappoint. Name starts with an “M” (MALGRETOUTE) cant remember exactly. It was pretty private, only us and 8 other people through the whole day. $15 per person get you a beach chair and an umbrella and butler service. We chose to do snorkeling $10 per person and this was the best decision of the day. The reef there is amazing, so many different colors of fish. We also saw an eel and another guest saw a squid. Awesome! Awesome snorkeling, excursion tomorrow but cancelled because we were so impressed today $20 was a much better price than the $200 excursion was going to cost us. The beach was wo quaint, right under the Piton Mountain and practically around the corner from Sugar beach. A local name blaze came right up to shore on a small boat with fresh fruit he had just picked. And best thing he makes fresh drinks with it right there out of the boat. We had a pina colada and a fruit box. This was the best tasting stuff! We enjoyed the best beach day and relaxed, the rest of the evening at the villa. Day 5: Note to self, if you go to the beach, wear a large amount of sunscreen. Thought I had enough on but I was wrong so today woke up to extremely painful sunburns. Today was our 1 year anniversary so we decided to hang out at the villa and enjoy it and each other’s company. We played games, read books, got in the pool, watched Netflix and enjoyed lounging thinking back on this crazy year of marriage that we have had. We decide to hire Che Ramsey tonight for a special dinner. Great Choice! We stood around and talked while he cooked and asked questions. He was so polite and answered all questions. We had the grilled seafood in garlic lime butter sauce and it did not disappoint. Delicious! Highly recommend booking him during your stay. We ended the night taking a dip in the pool beneath the stars. Great 1st anniversary! Day 6: Today we decided to go back to the beach. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. We went snorkeling again and saw the squid for ourselves and another eel! So crazy and right there at your finger tips. We ordered the burger at the beach and the Bob Marley and Pina Colada and it was all really good. Wore a lot of sun screen this time round so no more burns for us. Ending the day cooking in the villa and getting our Covid Test to go back to Texas on Wednesday. Day 7: today we enjoyed another day in relaxing at the villa. We made breakfast and played some board games and cards. We got in and relaxed by the pool. For lunch we decided to go for a walk to Fedos. Food was delicious. Highly recommend. We ate the grilled fish in garlic butter sauce and ordered the roto to go for another time. A fresh fruit truck was even outside and we were able to pick up some Mangoes and plums. Ended the day with a movie on Netflix. Day 8: Back to Texas Day ☹ Shane will be picking us up to go back to the airport at 11. We have enjoyed our 1st anniversary trip to St. Lucia SO MUCH. This is a beautiful island with beautiful people. Thank you Janus and your team for a wonderful stay, you will always have a place to stay in Texas if you decide to come😊 Good Vibes and Island time With love Heather and Marshall Comments are closed.
