SERRANA VILLA JOURNAL

Explore all the Trailblazers. They’ll put you on the right path.

This was a great trip and we loved the Serrana Villa. Janus is a great host!

Best places we went on St. Lucia and tips to share with other guests

Beaches:
  • Sugar beach is hard to beat. The views of the Pitons are great. White sand beach is really nice. We had drinks/lunch both times and stayed until Sunset. Shuttle driver, never asked for receipt. Unless you really want a lounge chair, don’t hang out on the public side, drop your stuff in front of the bar area and enjoy the other side.
  • Anse Chastanet: is nice but the public side is not very good. Constant boat traffic. Again, unless you really want a lounge chair, don’t pay $33 to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella. Instead walk over to Anse Mamin. Less people and better view, completely public so you don’t feel like an intruder on someone else beach
Food:
  • Loved the creole burger at Anse Mamin/Anse Chastanet. Definitely get one.
  • Martha’s table on the way to Sugar Beach is Out Standing.
  • We heard Pounty’s pizza are the best but we went there and they only make Pizza on a Friday and Sunday???! So, we got Pizza at Ruby’s. They were great and good price.
Views:
Hopefully you have a 4-wheel drive car, some of the best views are on rough roads or require driving rough roads to get there.
  • Jade Mountain – Awesome views! Call ahead for a reservation at the lounge. Do it 45 minutes before Sunset.
  • Beacon Point – driver worth out of town and up the hill. Great view point.
  • Tet Paul Nature Trail -one of our favorite things we did. Awesome views and easy hike.
Sugar Beach Between the Pitons.

Other Tips:

The roads to Anse Chastanet is Crazy! When you think, it isn’t the road past the Hammingbird Resort – it is!!!, and then when you think it can’t be this steep, rough road up the hill – it is!!! I hope you have 4-wheel driver, worth the drive through to the beach and to Jade Mountain.

Sulphur Springs are cool. Don’t pay for the Volcano tour – not worth t in my opinion, and they give you a guide for the 2 min walk (just means more $$ in tip)

Mud baths are more like mud painting of your body. Definitely do it but you won’t be sitting down in a mud bath.

Leave your shoes on the mat otherwise, little ants follow your footsteps.

This was a great trip and we loved the villa. Janus is a great host!

P.S – Diamond Fall was good but not great. We found the other waterfalls at the intersection where Ruby’s is, go straight we didn’t go but heart if you walk past the fast falls – go a bit further and there is a  waterfall you can actually go into. Can’t go into Diamond Falls.

    WEATHER IN SAINT LUCIA
While most places in the world have four well-defined seasons, its proximity to the equator means that this is not really the case for the island of St. Lucia.
