This place is amazing. One night was not enough and we will be back for more of this spectacular view. Janus you also did a wonderful job on welcoming us to your beautiful place. Thank you again for a lovely time.
See you soon!! Soufriere/St. Lucia Crew. Jenn Vernessa Murphy Marvinus We stayed at Sargas Villa for a week and truly enjoyed our time here. Janus is a great host and always checked in on us to make sure we were doing well. We had mangoes dropped off to us one morning and a baguette a few days later…. Both were fresh and delicious! We cooked breakfast in the villa most mornings and would venture out for lunch and dinner.
Some things we did included: • Sugar Beach- Beautiful beach between the two pitons, white sand, great snorkeling ( we saw an octopus) food was good, $55 USD for two chairs but we didn’t pay for them. Instead we ate at the restaurant and then walked to the chairs and no one questioned us. • Anse Chastanet – beautiful beach road to get there is extremely rough (pit holes) quitter than sugar beach, more strict about paying for chairs if you’re not staying at the resort, good drinks and food. • Anse Mamin- our favorite beach, a private beach almost! A walk from Anse Chastanet, which seems to deter people from going there, the bar and food there is great, awesome burgers, awesome snorkeling. One day we laid there under some trees and another paid for chairs US $32 to get 2 cushion chairs and towels. • Soufriere tour: • Tete Paul Nature Trail- great views, local tour guides with cool stories and a local dog 😊 • Sulphur Springs- seeing the volcano was a huge experience and worth doing, but we wouldn’t do the Sulphur baths again. It was crowded, tool forever to be able to rinse off and the Sulphur stained parts of our clothes. We washed them multiple times and still can’t get the smell off. Wear clothes that you won’t use again after! • Waterfall – very cool and beautiful! • Gros Piton Hike- Amazing views but definitely physically challenging, take a lot of water with you and wear sunscreen, worth it. We love St. Lucia and it will always have a special meaning to us because we just got engaged during our stay here! THANK YOU, JANUS, !! More food notes: Also, Fedos food was great and within walking distance. We were disappointed with the food at Pier 28 and wouldn’t recommend going there. Chef Ramsey’s food that he made for us in the villa was Exquisite!! Vishal & Jessica, Houston Texas We only stayed at Sargas 2 nights – for a little bit of luxury after working in the public hospital for 2 months! We have really enjoyed our stay and felt at home while we have been here.
A dip in the pool at Sunset to watch the sun fall over the pitons was fantastic! As for Soufriere we would definitely recommend climbing Gros Piton – it was an amazing experience with breathtaking views to the north and south of the island, although can be quite physically challenging! A visit to the Mango Tree Restaurant for lunch/dinner is also worthwhile and you can relax in their pool and admire petit piton from up close. The Sulphur Springs bath is good fun too and your skin is so smooth after (although don’t wear any clothes you particularly care about as the smell takes a few washes to get out!). a water taxi ride to Jalousie (Sugar Beach) is also perfect – tip * don’t pay the $55.00 USD, per person at sugar beach if you’re only going to use the beach – all beaches in St. Lucia is public & free to visit, or you’ll just be paying a fortune to use their shuttle bus. If you can, book a reservation at their restaurant instead and you can use the shuttle “for free”. Some St. Lucian food to try while you’re here:
Also if you’re here while T20/CPL (Cricket) is on then you must go! The ground is in Rodney Bay. We are missing it but the atmosphere is Fab! It’s basically a huge party. We cannot wait to come back to this beautiful island Thanks, Janus! Olivia and Chris St. Lucia will always have a special place in our hearts. Sargas Villa allows visitors to experience Soufriere a way no resort can, even attempt. The amazing beauty of the property and the views are what draws us foreigners to Sargas, however the people and culture is truly what makes the beauty of the island. Thank you for Sargas, Kimmy and Ramsey for the great hospitality and accommodators.
We met countless St. Lucians and truly enjoyed your properties access to Soufriere. For those looking for suggestions, during your trip, don’t leave Soufriere without enjoying a sunset with mystic man tours company, dinner at the breath taking JADE Mountain, waterfalls and mineral baths, climbing Gros Piton ( we will climb Petit Piton, when we visit again) the beautiful Anse Mamin( ask for Edmund) Enjoyed some local food at Petite Peak, Fedos and Ruby’s. Enjoy!! Until we visit again. Jason & April |
