Catherine & Jordan /Jan 5-11,2018/ Columbus, OH
Food: Pier 28: about a 15-20 min walk from Sapphire. They have some really delicious cocktails & blended drinks. The food was good but honestly the drinks were more worth it than the meal. Jordan enjoyed the ‘’Orgasm in A Glass’’ & I liked my Pina colada and the Pier Special. For $45USD we got 4 blended drinks and two entrees. Fedos: Pretty cheap, it’s a good place to eat. The chicken roti was delicious but be warned that a lot of chicken and fish on the island hasn’t been deboned! We were a little disappointed because there was a couple of things on the menu we wanted but they didn’t have all the ingredients. But still, $14usd for a good lunch isn’t bad!!! Zaka’s Art café: we cannot say enough about this place. The iced coffee is amazing, the amelette is fantastic and the pancakes are yummy. We were here every day of our trip, hanging out with Simon (the owner) his wife (Leah) and their kids. Jordan even joined in on one of Simon and his kidss guitar Jam session and we talked to them about music. Absolutely stop by here, enjoy some great coffee and great conversation in a colorful space! Ruby’s: very yummy, but a little pricey. I got a completely wrong pizza (I asked for maegherita & got their veggie pizza) but I told them I’d eat it anyways. The owner was coming around the table and checking on everyone and that was nice to see! Mango Tree: ended up eating here 2 nights in a row since most places were closed Monday. Pricier but very good! They do a tapas menu on Sundays. If you get the chance, go at sunset and ask for a seat by the railing/edge, its beautiful (reservation required for dinner) Orlando’s: Another pricier spot, but absolutely wonderful. They have a cat named pretty who will come looking for a little attention (this thrilled me) but if you want to ignore her, she wont bother you. The menu changes here constantly so I can’t recommend anything, but Orlando will probably come out to introduce himself and chat!! Sugar Beach Bayside Restaurant: absolutely fantastic. Definitely on the pricer side (at least for dinners, not sure bout lunch) but worth it in my opinion. We got 1 apps, 2 entrees $ 2 drinks on our tab was $222USD. Jordans flank steak was amazing and my favorite thing was a tomato crab stone – something (its an app) melt in your mouth quality. Activities: Tet Paul Nature Trail: Cheap ($10usd/person) with a guide included. The hike up and down really isn’t hard and the view at the top is GORGEOUS!!! Piton Falls: Leah (from Zaka’s) gave us great advice. If you can go after dark. You will look and feel a bit like you’re breaking the law but don’t worry!! The hike/walk down to the 3 pools is dark so make sure you have at least a phone with a flashlight but its stairs with a handrail so you’ll be okay! The water is super nice, except maybe a couple locals (if you go at night) and you can see the stars nicely! Highly recommend. Parasailing: and this up in Rodney Bay; it was fun but had to go up individually since it was to windy Atlantic Snores Horseback Riding: we did a private ride for a little extra but it was worth it. This is down by the airport and was worth the drive. Max was a great guide and the horses were beautiful. The scenery is lovely and you get to stop at the beach for a bit. No need for any experience either; ive ridden for years but it was Jordan’s first and it was easy-peesy for him (you might get sore though) Rainforest Aerial Tram Zipline and Hike Tour: about 1 hour and a half from Soufriere but very fun. You take a nice calm aerial tram ride course up walk/hike the zipline and then go through and really fun zips. You then hike back up to the aerial tram and go back to the base where you receive a complimentary drink (NA) The guides were great, and I left very safe and secure doing all the activities Sunset Catamarn Tour: We did this with Mystic Man Tours for about $60USD per person. It comes with unlimited beers and rum punch and some finger foods. The views of the sunset was beautiful and we got to see some small whales! A lot of whales actually! Super cool. I’d recommend this since it’s local, so you can just walk there rather than most of the activities I’ve recommend Beaches: Anse Chastanet and Sugar Beach are nice. Try going when people are getting ready for dinner b/c the beaches aren’t as populated at Sugar Beach was fun and you can rent equipment there. WARNING! The walk from the main gate at SB is long and steep!!! Took us bout 15 minutes downhill but thankfully shuttled up to the top. While there’s no crazy walk to AC, the drive from Soufriere is short but Super scary!!! Thank you Janus for an amazing place to stay!! We’ll happily be back soon! We loved staying here! 😊 😊 Comments are closed.
