Hanna + Tim (from Boston, MA)
  • Day 1 – Didn’t arrive at Airbnb until5:30pm or so. By the time we showered and ready to go out it was 7pm and dark. We decided to walk down the hill to Ruby’s Pizza Grill, on a suggestion from Janus. Food was just okay staff was friendly, great live music.

  • Day 2- Went to Zaka’s for breakfast, cold brew coffee, cheese omelet, fresh bread + jam/+ smoothie were all delicious and to pricey. Drove to Sugar Beach in rental (roads are scary would recommend a water taxi instead) had to pay $50 USD pp to park + to be shuttled down, which you can use for foods + drinks @ the resort restaurant. Views from the beach were spectacular + since day was overcast plenty of open free chairs on public side of the beach. Walked to grocery store in down town Soufriere to get food t make dinner, was approached by Simon Says Tours (Simon himself) and we booked a snorkeling tour for Wednesday.

  • Day 3- slept in +made breakfast, fresh bread from Janus was great. Headed to hike Gros Piton- 1pm.
- Tours up mountain usually end at 2pm, but they found someone to take us even if it was a late start. We’re in relatively good shape, and we decided to only go ½ way up when a) way still presented great views b) super fit family coming down@ the same time talking about how bad their knees would hurt tomorrow/ how difficult it was. Still glad we gave it a shot. Oh + guides $50 USD/PP.

  • Day 4- THE BEST: made breakfast and grabbed cash @the ATM to meet our Simon Says Tours at Petit Pick parking lot for 9:30am. $75 USD/pp for three snorkeling locations (Sugar Beach, Black Sand Beach and Anse Chastenet) bear/rum punch/ water on the boat, and a delicious lunch back in Soufriere. There were 8 total on the tour so not over crowded, definitely recommend doing it. Got back around 1:30pm.

- Simon arranged a water taxi for us to and from Anse Chastenet around 3pm (pickup at 9pm after dinner). We drunk at the bar hut by the dock for about an hour, met some locals which was nice. Rented chairs which was $11 USD/pp and sat under an awning (usually first come first serve but empty since it was later in the day) until our dinner reservation @ Aspara at7:00pm.  Recommended banana daquiri’s from the bar while at the beach.

- Walked over to Aspara restaurant (night on the beach) at 6:30pm (when they opened) to see if they’d seat us early. They didn’t have our reservation but seated us anyways, got our pick of any table, so we sat right on the water. Ended up spending $100 USD/pp after 2 apps, 2 entrees, + 2 cocktail (wouldn’t recommend either*signature cocktail*) But the food was outstanding (Indian-Lucian fusion) that + the view = best dinner of our trip

Thanks to Janus for a great Air Bnb experience. Being able to walk to town provided a more local experience than a resort. Hope everyone enjoys their trip to St. Lucia!

    WEATHER IN SAINT LUCIA
While most places in the world have four well-defined seasons, its proximity to the equator means that this is not really the case for the island of St. Lucia.
