Entry # 1
Sugar Beach: Our favorite beach on the island. Unbeatable views of the Pitons, great snorkeling, decent souvenir/clothing shop $18 USD stand-up paddling boards rentals (a lot of things to rent), FREE beach loungers – not the nice ones but, they worked fine and we didn’t we didn’t fine free ones at any of the other beaches, dude selling tropical fruits and coconuts, $10 USD for 8 different tropical fruits and $5 for a coconut *When you arrive at the gate, tell the guard you’re going for the beach and some drinks and he will send a shuttle to get you from the guest packing lot (if you drive there) Pigeon Island: Not to be missed! It’s a 1.5 hour drive up but it’s worth it. Hike up to Signal Hill and Fort Rodney. The views are great, the hike isn’t too hard. Pro tip- wear shoes, not flip-flops The beaches in the parks are also really pretty. Lounge chairs are $3 USD each- not bad. Park entry fee was $7 or $10 USD. Getting to drive to Castries and Gros Islet was an interesting change of scenery although we still like the small town better! We also ate lunch at the Jambe De Bois Restaurant, beside the beach. Good food! We had curried king fish and fish fillets. Tet Paul Nature Trail: AWESOME VIEWS!!! Not to be missed! $10 USD entry fee per person but it goes directly into the trail/farming community at the base. I repeat 360 degree panoramic views. Anse Chastenet/Anse Mamin Beaches: Great local beaches, although we liked Mamin better than Anse Chastanet .It was more scheduled, less people, great snorkeling, amazing burger place. We got the Jungle Burger (1st on menu) and the creole fish burger. Highly recommend both although your meal will cost $30 USD per person. Its worth it. Beach chairs cost money so we just put towels down on the sand near the snorkeling area. To get to Anse Mamin, turn right when you get onto Anse Chastanet beach, walk all the way to the end …keep walking down the gravel road for 10 minutes. *The road up to the resort is awful, keep going! Sulphur Springs: Unique experience! We got the guided tour and I was decent. It was neat seeing the Caldera. The Springs were relaxing and the mud felt great. I would recommend not going in with a sunburn though…OUCH!!! Diamond Botanical Gardens/Falls: Nice walk through the forest and the falls were cool. Lizards everywhere. Anse Cochon Beach (Ti Kaye Resort): Not the best beach, I wouldn’t go back. Snorkeling was okay but we found it better at Sugar Beach and Anse Mamin. Cost $10 USD per person to get in. Next to no shade and loungers were expensive. Driving a lap around the Island: Great rainy day activities. Would be better on a sunny day, of course. Other Highlights: Touring the Serrana Villa with Janus (thank you again) and the Bread, Mango and Avocado Janus brought for us. Yum!!!
Awesome Wifi. *Driving like a local!!!! -When we killed our rental car’s battery, Janus has someone sent out to us within minutes to give us a boost View Fort & Sandy Beach: Our last stop before the airport. We’ve heard it’s Amazing!! Thank You for the amazing stay!!!!!!...XO |
WEATHER IN SAINT LUCIA
While most places in the world have four well-defined seasons, its proximity to the equator means that this is not really the case for the island of St. Lucia. Archives
