Thank you, Janus for a very happy and relaxing week here. We didn’t hire a car so we walked everywhere and hired a taxi one day.
The highlight of each day was watching the Sun Set from our patio. We really enjoyed our walk, up Gros Piton. Janus arranged the tour for us. All the guys that work for Janus are great. We got dropped off at sugar beach en route home. The return to Soufriere via water taxi (USD 30) was a highlight though for sure. We enjoyed buffet lunch at Hummingbird on the beach and the restaurant by the botanical gardens; we enjoyed our private mineral bath there. We found the walk to Anse chastanet Challenging, we probably should have treated ourselves with a water taxi. But it was much more welcoming than Sugar Beach. We splashed out a fabulous lunch. We loved hanging around Soufriere. We also enjoyed the local Pizzeria Ruby’s. Good food plus great music (not live). Very Friendly Staff. But that’s the least about S.L -The friendliness it’s people Jill + Bill Fort Augustus, Scotland We could only stay for 2 nights as he was already booked out for the following days. Nonetheless , we had an amazing time. We simply watched the sun set over the balcony on the first night which gave us great view. Then on our first day, we headed out to Tet Paul Nature Trail and Soufriere Volcano/Sulphur bath.
We covered ourselves in mud and got one of the locals to do Paintings on us. Leave the mud to dry on your skin, we feel so soft!!! Only do the baths for the Volcano (not the tours, tours not worth it). We are leaving this morning on our way to hike the Gros Piton. It’s meant to be hard but highly rewarding. Janus was a great Host. He brought us Mangoes and Grapefruits freshly taken from the tree. We are leaving to stay in Castries for the rest of our time on the Island, but we might call Janus for more tips as he was so helpful!!! Great apartment, lovely stay. Wish we could stay longer!!! Anne-Marie & Jeremie, MTL, Canada. P.S – Go to Zaka’s Café ! Nice spot, nice people, nice art and GREAT Coffee! (he harvest the beans himself in the Valley). We simply watched the sunset over the Balcony on the first night which gave us a great view.1/19/2017

My boyfriend and I had an awesome start to our week in St. Lucia here @ Janus’s Sapphire Apartment. From the messages and tips, pre-arrival and along the way.
Janus couldn’t have been a better host. When we arrived in the airport we followed Janus’s advice and stopped at Massys (grovery store) which is super close to UVF and got steak & chicken, meat, rice and veggies and of course some Piton beer to have for our first night. Driving here in out rental (Chevy, tiny car) made the drive here such an adventure! After a few stops for pictures at the lookout spots as you come down to Soufriere, we met Janus and got up to the apt. right at Sunset. We soaked in the view, settled in and made ourselves at home. The next morning we woke up early a head to hike Gros Piton – wow! We love hiking, and that experience right there is at the top of our chart (ask for Chad if you go!) When we finish we went to Sugar Beach for lunch & Sunbath & Swimming. Came back to the apt, showered and then walked down to the water and grabbed a drink @ Pitit Peak to watch the sun set. We then walked to Orlando’s and had a lovely dinner there! We’re heading North tomorrow morning to do an ATV tour and stay at the St. Lucian by rex resort for New Year’s Eve! We will be checking out some of the other amazing suggestions listed in this book over the cost of our stay. All we know is that we’re already talking about how we can live there one day. Enjoy all this magical Island has to offer. Thanks again Janus! All the best! Elizabeth & Austin |
WEATHER IN SAINT LUCIA
While most places in the world have four well-defined seasons, its proximity to the equator means that this is not really the case for the island of St. Lucia. Archives
