So that ripe papaya next to the back deck, or that big pineapple out front or that ripe papaya, eat them. I mean that’s awesome.
Arrived at Serrana Villa! We got to the villa around 1 o’clock, and were greeted by Janus with open arms… Literally, we were given big hugs!
After being shown around, we realized that we needed groceries…. NO PROBLEM! Janus called us a car, which showed up within the hour. Our driver brought us into town to the supermarket… Really friendly people, they take cards as well. Stores are also walking distance from the villa. Immediately my husband and I realized that it would be no problem for a 10- 20-minute walk to the town ourselves.
Night consisted of a lovely happy hour on the deck and some homemade pasta. Great to have such a big kitchen to work with! We caught up on the bachelor while eating dinner, which we wouldn’t normally do, but it started raining. It did not take away the view though.
Small perks: The adorable pool to dip our feet into and a feeling of seclusion!
Had coffee on the back deck and enjoyed the view. Later walked into town for some beers… It’s about 20 mins walk into town to the grocery store, but so easy! Just follow the road all the way into town. The people are so nice and we loved being able to stretch our legs, chat with locals and enjoy Soufriere.
At night we headed to Ruby’s Pizzeria- thought we might grab some apps and then take a pizza to go. We got there at 4:30 and it seems they were just opening (it officially opens at 3:00) We were the only ones there so if you’re looking to go no need to make a reservation! We were told that Ruby’s doesn’t actually sell pizza all the time…. Weird, so don’t plan on getting pizza at Ruby’s However, we ordered a Ruby’s Burger to split, the catch of the day and rum punch. Definitely get the burger! SO YUMMY! Fries are also delightful also great punch. Be prepared to eat a lot, tough, or you might find yourself leaving pretty tipsy!
After Ruby’s we stopped at the little bar at the bottom of the hill. So cute, kind of hidden. Coolest bartender, she gave us honey moon shots of rum and even took one with us. The walk back up the hill was rough.
Janus brought us fresh bread. Yum! Coffee on the porch, then lunch at Fedo’s before doing the Tet Paul Nature Trail. Although the drivers claim Fedo’s as some sort of local classic, my husband and I weren’t into it. The wait was around an hour and neither of us liked the food very much. The people were not super friendly either, just be warned! Also, if you’re getting a roti from Fedo’s, be prepared that the meat is “bone- in”. My husband nearly broke a tooth.
Tet Paul Nature Trail: If you don’t feel like climbing a dangerous mountain which is Gros Piton do this hike instead! 10 mins drive from Serrana Villa, short hike/ walk (15- 20 mins) multiple stops along the way and so freaking beautiful. We actually had a close up view of the pitons, something we wouldn’t of had if we climbed the pitons.
• $10 US, each person
• $10 US can choose to have a guide or not (we didn’t, we liked that personally)
Our last full day in St. Lucia. We enjoyed our morning thoroughly… slept in late and had a late breakfast. The porch is just lovely in the morning. Later we went to the supermarket for lunch supplies and Janus drove us himself. Really nice. The supermarket is kind of crazy, but at this point we knew our way around the isles.
Dinner at Ruby’s again. We loved being able to walk down the road for a meal. We got a burger to share and lots of fries. We also had rum and some Pina coladas. Just really good people. The waitress is so sweet and the owner always comes over to talk with us.
No pizza again, but hey, if you’re an unknown person, get a pizza at Ruby’s, I hope it is the best god darn pizza in the whole world.
Overall great stay at Serrana Villa. St. Lucia is beautiful and the people are so friendly. We loved our first 4 days at Caille Blanc and we also loved Serrana Villa.
Just a few tips……
- Walk into town instead of getting a driver. You won’t regret it, just really pretty and friendly people.
- DO NOT LEAVE FOOD OUT ANYWHERE!! The villa has ants and they are everywhere there’s food. Just try to stay neat.
Apparently, all fruit you see in the trees or bushes around the villa are fair game. So that ripe papaya next to the back deck, or that big pineapple out front or that ripe papaya, eat them. I mean that’s awesome.
Enjoy your stay! We sure did 😊
