Janus and his team were absolutely wonderful. Super friendly and outgoing. Janus answered all of our questions and always encouraged us to call him if we needed anything.
We only needed one of his drivers, but he was chatty and understanding when we needed to hit the ATM to pay him because we run out of cash. If we hadn't rented a car we would definitely used
his drivers with more than 100% confidence.
Best burger - Anse Mamin @ Anse Chastanet
Best Overall Ambience/experience- Bayside @ Sugar Beach
Vest Views - Dasheene @ Ladera
All non-resorts will accept USD & ECD
Sugar beach was amazing. Beautiful white sand, clean and very helpful staff. Tthe road is 100% better than the road to
Anse Chastanet. Beautiful views right between the Pitons and the water was much calmer there. The free benches are to
the right, they look like regular pool chairs and are in the shade. However, it seems like alot of people smoke there
and if you don't want that, there’s a tiny patch of shade by the outside Bar. It's $50 USD to get a day pass for a resort
chair, umbrella or in the sun. Mixed drinks are a must, $16 USD i think, you can also order smaller food from the chairs.
shuttle never asked for proof that we ate or spent money at the resort.
Anse Chastanet was very small but filled with resort chairs, we followed the waterfront road to Anse Mamin and it was
bigger and much more space. The sand at Anse Mamin was softer and had public space in the shade. Look like a tropical
beach, very pretty. A day pass for 2 resort Chairs $120 USD. Views from the beach were nothing special. The road there
Bayside at Sugar Beach is very pricey but everything is going to be pricey when doing anything at the resort especially
when you add alcohol. Bayside is right by the beach. The view is great, you're completely in the shade, there are multiple
ceiling fans, it is very comfortable to set and people watch while you eat, service was great and the food was excellent.
Anse Mamin has burgers from $23-28 USD, depending on what you get you could split a large and be satisfied. Their buns
are amazing, a whole wheat flat biscuit style. Honestly a really good burger with unique taste i haven't had in New York.
Ruby's Pizzaria & Grill is open until after 3pm, most places seem to close by 3pm in town. Google says it's open 3pm-11pm
but a hanging sign at the place says 11am-11pm. No one was ever there when we went/drove by so it looks closed but it's
not. It's open every day except Mondays. Wide selections of food and a nice atmosphere outside when they turn on the Xmas
Lights. A basic peperoni pizza can be shared by 2 and is about $9.25 USD but meals can be into the $30-$50 USD range.
The staff and Chef are friendly. Cash in both USD/ECD are acceptable as well as credit cards.
Fedos is Super Close by to walk to from the Villa. Very cheap and by portions but most importantly it was a good cash only.
Dasheene At Ladera had the most beautiful views while dinning. Food was good, similar prices to the other resorts dinning
lunch hours. Waitress took lots of pictures for us and went above and beyond (moving the awning and stuff on the table)
to help get us a good picture. There was a sign that said it would be a $25 cover change if you just wanted to take
pictures or just have drinks. Lunch was delicious.
THINGS TO DO!!!
Botanical Gardens: Did not do mineral bath, very crowded and looked like it would be similar to sharing a hot tub with 20
strangers. Not my kind of thing. Would have been nice to see the waterfall but oh well we spent an hour there (including
having a little snack at a gift shop). We did a self tour but i think a guide would be worth it. We over heard some of the
guides during our walk and they had cool info on plants/trees/fruits. It's small but worth the visit, $17.50 EC just to
see the gardens/person.
Volcano tour – Short (less than 20 minutes but you barely do any walking but was very interesting and informative. Our guide
entertained and answered my various questions and was very knowledgeable about the island as a whole. We did the mud baths
as well and it was surprisingly fun. I didn’t think hot springs on a hot day was going to work but it was relaxing. The mud
is a bit hard to wash off, but the staff that were there to help were very funny and very helpful. Don’t remember the cost
-could have been about $30 EC for 2. It’s a fun experience but the mud areas is small and could easily get crowded quick.
Snorkeling - Went at Sugar Beach and we loved it! I have never been snorkeling before so i can't compare it to any other
locations but it was fun. Lots of various kinds of fish and coral $10 USD/person for a mask and mouth piece $20/person all
day Until 4:30pm. Flippers are extra but aren't necessary if you're staying in just the area located by the public beach
part. The $10 gets you an hour of use.
The Bank Of St. Lucia Didn't work for us, we had to go around the back to basically the other side of the building to the
other bank in town (I forgot the name, Caribbean something maybe?) That one works! It's one street closer to the water after
church street. $5 USD fee o withdraw. There's a big blue and yellow building nearby, which also has a pharmacy where you can
buy candy/small snacks, hair/bath products, medicine and sunscreen. The Pharmacy Takes cards.
Had a wonderful stay here, The Villa was absolutely Fantastic!
