La Soufriere- Drive-in Volcano and Mud Baths – went to interpretation center to watch 5-10minute video with our car. Guided tour of Volcano- note you must go up and down some stairs, then into the mud-mineral baths, felt wonderful but your clothes will spell like Sulphur, so take some dark old ones/white can stain possibly. Felt wonderful! Sugar Beach on Jalousie – drove to the resort if have car/ in taxi or even water taxi. If you drive your car, park out resort car park and take shuttle down/tip your driver. At bottom Sugar Beach Lounge chaise are right free, yes free! You pay for nicer ones on left. Snorkeling to right. OK. Was fun for a short time. Had decent pizza at bar for snacks. Nice view of Pitit Piton. Morne Coubaril cocoa plantation was about 30 minutes tour for about U.S$11.00, was interesting. Had cocoa bean sample, coconut water and bite at fresh coconut. You can zipline, but we didn’t so can’t comment. Get a chocolate bar for treat in shop Anse Chastanet Beach/Jade Mountain Resort is a nice palm-studded dark sand beach, warm snorkeling on left. Ok snorkeling. Pretty beach and you can snorkel to on the beach far right side of Anse Chastanet beach to Anse Mamin Beach. If take time will take 15-30 minutes. Food : Pier 28 had low prices but very slow service and inconsistent quality. Ruby’s – had to wait for pizza which was good but better pizza in Gros-Islet @ il Pappa (aka key leigo)- really great wood fire pizza. Matthew’s – Rodney bay. 2/1 happy hour and nice British owners. Good food, would go back. Drove to Choiseul to check out the art center – pretty bare and only once area open but bought nice wood carvings. Zaka art café across from Pitit Peak restaurant. Bought totems and had good smoothie. Pitt Peak Restaurant – did not care for burger on lunch menu but otherwise ok. Diamond fall & Botanical Gardens. Did not go into mineral bath but enjoyed walk through gardens until the tour buses showed. Dec. 7, 2016 Hi, This is Greg Barrett from the U.S. I live in Minnesota. I came here with my girlfriend, her sister and mom. We stayed on the north side of the Island for 7 days and here for 5. We had a lot of fun. We toured everywhere, we had a car. There is a lot to see. Most everyone we met were very nice. This is our last day we fly to Atlanta C.A and then to Minneapolis M.N W e get in at around midnight to weather that is 30-40 degrees fever height. HAVE FUN and god bless. Barrett & Family I write this from the beautiful balcony after three nights staying at this bright, well located, modern apartment. My boyfriend and I loved how convenient it was to travel all the places we wanted to go from here.
Loved the Suphur Springs, Sugar Beach, Botanical Gardens and even our adventure just driving around! We ate some great meals: Dasheen was wonderful and if you go for lunch you’ll not only get a great view but slightly lower pricing too. (a bit of a splurge but hey, you’re on vacation) Janus is a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. I hope we are back soon; there is so much more to see and do than we could in three days (also there is definitely more food to eat, so we hope we have on the way out). Loved Soufriere & hour temporary home at it. Eric and I have spent hours on this balcony talking and watching the sky… and we hope you love it even half as much as we did. WEATHER IN SAINT LUCIA
While most places in the world have four well-defined seasons, its proximity to the equator means that this is not really the case for the island of St. Lucia. Archives
